Diving Atlantis, a well-established PADI Dive Center located in Tenerife, is looking for a motivated PADI Diving Instructor to join our international team.

Start Date: OCT/NOV 2026

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and guest-facing Marine Biologist to join our watersports and diving team on the Kenyan coast for our upcoming high season.

This is a seasonal role (3 months), where you’ll be part of a small team of 1–3 resident biologists, working closely with our dive and watersports crew to create meaningful, educational, and memorable ocean experiences for our guests.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, dynamic position combining marine science, guest engagement, and ocean-based activities.

You will:

• Lead and assist with snorkelling, diving, and ocean excursions
• Join watersports activities such as kayaking and guided experiences
• Engage guests by sharing knowledge about the local marine ecosystem
• Host evening talks/presentations on marine life and conservation
• Work on our coral restoration project, including maintenance and monitoring
• Assist with data collection and environmental reporting

Ideal Candidate

• Degree or background in Biology or related field
• Confident in the water and comfortable guiding guests
• Strong communication skills and a natural storyteller
• Team player with a positive, guest-oriented attitude
• PADI certification (or equivalent) preferred
• Bonus: Certified Yoga Instructor (opportunity to lead occasional classes)

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a couple where both are active SSI instructors and one or both PADI OWSI renewed and in teaching status.
• Must have enough experience to manage the operation successfully and profitably.
• Ready to start in October 2026 which is the start of our high season.
• Happy with an initial contract for a period of 6 months
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English
• Ability to teach in German and English – any other languages would be an added advantage
• Possess great organizational and interpersonal skills
• Well-groomed with a positive “can do” and flexible attitude

We are seeking an experienced management couple with the necessary passion and commitment to help continue to drive the present success and excellent reputation the resort enjoys.  Ideally, both will be qualified dive instructors with the ability to maintain dive equipment, and both will also have extensive experience in managing the day-to-day operations of a remote island resort.

We need a management couple with a strong commitment to live on a small remote island with the ability to provide exceptional personal guest service. You will have strong leadership skills whilst working in a hands-on role, setting constant examples and mentoring our close-knit team of local employees.

We need someone who understands aspects of construction, maintenance and repair, and the ability to troubleshoot or oversee plant, equipment and operational requirements.  The remote location of the resort means that forward planning, advanced problem solving and a keen eye on day-to-day operations are essential skills and a prerequisite.

Applicants must be fluent English and have at least 5 years management experience in a similar role running a minimum 4-star hotel or higher, or a remote island resort or lodge in an isolated location.

Candidates with the following skills or experience will be highly regarded – managing properties with their own generator power supply and water treatment plants, managing and overseeing the service of boats, excellent dive instruction and marine conservation credentials.

Contract is 3 years, private accommodation, all meals and boat transfers to and from mainland Fiji will be provided.  Attractive remuneration package will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.
