Position Overview

We’re looking for a Freediving Instructor to lead sessions primarily on Saturdays, with occasional Sundays based on demand.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, building confidence in students, and sharing a thoughtful, safety-first approach to freediving.

Schedule

• Most Saturdays: Pool sessions (primary teaching day)
• Occasional Sundays: Ocean sessions

Responsibilities

• Lead freediving training in pool and ocean environments
• Teach breathwork, safety, and foundational freediving techniques
• Create a calm, supportive learning environment
• Closely monitor student safety and progression
• Communicate clearly with students and staff

Class Structure

We’re looking for a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor who is passionate about teaching and excited to dive in Southern California waters.

This is a weekend-based role with consistent scheduling and occasional weekday opportunities.

• Sundays: Ocean dives (Catalina Island or Channel Islands)

Operations are conducted using 32ft speed boats. Travel time to local dive sites is approximately 20–30 minutes, while Pulau Payar Marine Park is 45–60 minutes depending on weather conditions.

Visibility:

Langkawi local sites: 1–5 meters (on clear days)

Pulau Payar: 5–20 meters depending on season

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable instructor who is comfortable working in challenging conditions and a teaching-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct all PADI courses (DSD to professional level if qualified)

Requirements

Fluent in English (Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are an advantage)

Valid motorcycle & car driving license (mandatory)

Langkawi Local Dive Sites

Visibility: 1–5 meters

Often murky due to sediment and currents

Primary environment for skills training and student development

This requires:

Patience and strong student control

Clear communication and adaptability

Comfort teaching in limited visibility

This is not a clear-water showcase environment, but a serious training ground for skill development.

Pulau Payar Marine Park

Visibility: typically 5–15 meters (up to 20m on good days)

Healthy reefs and diverse marine life

Suitable for course continuation and completion

This environment requires:

Efficient teaching

Good student management

Ability to adapt to varying conditions
