About the Position

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Assistant Manager / Base Leader to support the Director of Operations (DOO) in the daily management and operation of the Diving, Watersports, and Excursions Department.

The Assistant Manager / Base Leader will work directly under the Director of Operations, assisting with the daily operational responsibilities, team coordination, guest service, activity planning, safety, and overall performance of the department.

In the absence of the Director of Operations, the Assistant Manager / Base Leader will be responsible for acting on behalf of the DOO and taking full responsibility for the daily operational duties and decision-making within the department, ensuring continuity of service and smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and work directly with the Director of Operations on a daily basis.
• Support the DOO in the overall management of Diving, Watersports, and Excursions.
• Act as the designated operational lead in the absence of the Director of Operations.
• Take responsibility for the daily operation and decision-making during the DOO’s absence.
• Lead, motivate, and coordinate the Diving, Watersports, and Excursions teams.
• Assist with daily planning, staff allocation, activity schedules, and operational briefings.
• Ensure all activities are operated safely, professionally, and according to company standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and ensure a consistently high level of service.
• Support sales and revenue generation across diving, watersports, fishing, excursions, and other activities.
• Coordinate boat operations, equipment preparation, maintenance, and activity readiness.
• Handle guest requests, complaints, and operational challenges professionally.
• Support staff training, coaching, and performance development.
• Ensure compliance with PADI standards, safety procedures, resort policies, and local regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with Resort Management and other departments.
• Assist with daily reports, revenue monitoring, operational planning, and administration.
• Ensure the department continues to operate efficiently and professionally in the absence of the DOO.

Requirements

• PADI Instructor certification MSDT.
• Minimum 3 years of professional diving, watersports, or marine industry experience.
• Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management position.
• Strong knowledge of dive center, watersports, excursion, and boat operations.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills are required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent guest-service and communication abilities.
• Experience in a luxury resort or liveaboard environment is an advantage.
• Valid first-aid/CPR certification and appropriate professional insurance.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and lead a multicultural team.
