We’re looking for an experienced, professional Boat Captain to join our crew in beautiful St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Must be already authorized to work in the United States. 

You’ll captain our 36’ Newton and 36’ Aventura dive boats, work closely with our dive instructors, and help create safe, fun, and memorable experiences for our guests. For qualified PADI Professionals, there are also opportunities to lead dives and teach PADI courses.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being on the water, takes pride in their boat, works well with a team, and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty when needed.

⚓ What You’ll Do

• Safely and professionally captain our 36’ Newton and 36’ Aventura dive boats

• Assist dive instructors with diver gear, tanks, and guest support

• Provide exceptional customer service and help create a welcoming guest experience

• Guide certified divers and snorkelers 

• Teach PADI courses from Discover Scuba through Rescue Diver Courses

• Conduct boat, dive, and safety briefings

• Share information about local marine life, conservation, and our incredible underwater environment

• Assist with boat cleaning, maintenance, fueling, and daily vessel preparation

• Fill scuba tanks and assist with compressor room operations

• Help with equipment, dock operations, and general day-to-day dive center tasks

• Pitch in on special projects and other duties as needed

🛥️ What We’re Looking For

• USCG 50-Ton (or greater) Master’s License

• Valid passport and authorization to work in the United States

• Experience operating single-screw inboard vessels; outboard experience is a plus

• Strong boat-handling, safety, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

• Membership in a USCG-compliant drug testing consortium, or willingness to join one

• OWDI PADI Professional certification 

• A willingness to learn, help wherever needed, and be part of a hardworking island team
