About Us:

Based in Vancouver BC, Diving Sports offers scuba and freediving courses, high-quality gear, equipment servicing, and guided dive experiences all year round.

We’re looking for an assistant store manager to join our team with an instructor-level scuba diving certification (PADI or TDI). This role is designed for someone with advanced, instructor-level diving knowledge and experience who wants to stay closely involved in the diving industry while taking on a key in-store leadership position, supporting operations, the team, and an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, customer-focused, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced retail environment.

Store Operations

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations
  • Ensure store standards are maintained (cleanliness, merchandising)
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, and POS operations
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with receiving shipments, and ensure accurate stock management
  • Support pricing integrity, promotions, and in-store marketing execution
  • Ensure proper equipment handling, storage, and display

Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise and support sales team during shifts
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
  • Help schedule staff and ensure adequate floor coverage
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to the team

Customer Experience

  • Deliver and promote outstanding customer service
  • Handle customer questions, concerns, and escalations professionally
  • Lead by example on the sales floor and support team

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in retail, customer service, or a supervisory role
  • MUST HAVE: Diving certification INSTRUCTOR LEVEL PADI/TDI
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Self-motivated
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Customer-orientated work ethic
  • Ability to bend, lift and carry up to 30 lbs

Schedule:
40 hours/ week
Wednesday – Sunday
