Job Description
ABOUT US
St. Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventures, is quite possibly the longest name in diving and that’s why most people just know us as SCUBA. We have a 25+ year history on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands and are currently operating two custom dive boats from two separate dive shops on the island.
ABOUT THIS OPENING
We’re looking for Captains with scuba diving experience and with ATTITUDE! Let’s be clear, we’re talking about having the RIGHT ATTITUDE. One befitting a scuba dive operation that has been called (by our customers) “The Friendliest Dive Shop on Earth”
DIVING ON ST CROIX
When we say “world class diving under the U.S. flag” we can back it up.
There’s only 2 places in the Caribbean where you can dive:
- A wall. It’s 13,200′ deep and vertical in places
- A reef. The largest living reef of any of the Caribbean islands
- A wreck. 5 of them within 100 yards of each other
- A pier. An amazing dive by day and absolutely fantastic at night
We’re the only one that’s under the U.S. flag. What does that mean?
- NO Passport required to travel here
- USCG Inspected dive boats
- USCG certificated Captains
- Same electricity
- Same currency
- Same language
WEATHER
As you can imagine it’s pretty darned good year round.
September is the peak of Hurricane season for this part of the world but we’re really good at preparing for them. Winter (mid January into February) winds can occasionally kick it up a bit and that makes things on our north shore somewhat “sporty”. Fortunately with two dive boats, one is always on the leeward side of the island so we can always find calm waters.
AIR TEMPS
Seldom above 90f / 32c
All time record low 62f / 17c
WATER TEMPS
Up to 86f / 30c during the summer
Normally no colder than 77f /25c in winter
OUR BOATS
We operate two custom dive boats. Â A 42′ Delta based on the north shore and a 31′ Island Hopper based on the west shore. Â We’re under the U.S. flag so these boats are operated by USCG certificated Masters and we adhere to ALL USCG regulations.
TO WORK WITH US

Some of Our Requirements

- U.S. Citizen or holder of valid work permit
