Job Description

Aquanaut Scuba, a family-run PADI 5* Instructor Development Centre with over 20 years of excellence, is seeking a passionate and motivated Centre Assistant to join our dynamic team. This exciting role spans our Kingston and West Norwood retail stores, our training pool, and service centre, offering a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant, fast-paced environment at the heart of the scuba and snorkelling community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Customer Engagement: Assist customers with retail sales of scuba and snorkelling equipment, process bookings for PADI training courses and equipment servicing, and handle in-store air fills (with the opportunity to train in gas blending).
  • Retail Operations: Manage stock, maintain shop presentation, and ensure a welcoming environment for our diverse clientele.
  • Training Support: Organise training evenings and weekends, including preparing dive kits, completing paperwork, and coordinating logistics.
  • Optional Teaching Role: For candidates who are in-status PADI Instructors with a valid HSE medical, there’s the chance to deliver PADI courses and inspire the next generation of divers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enthusiasm for scuba diving, snorkelling, and marine conservation, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills to thrive in a busy retail and training environment.
  • Flexibility to work across our Kingston, Tolworth and West Norwood locations, with hours tailored to suit business needs.
  • Preferred: A valid driver’s license and age 25+ to operate our company van (not essential).
  • Bonus: PADI Instructor status with HSE medical for teaching opportunities (not required).

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Training: Full training on our shop systems, compressor operations, and gas blending, with no prior experience required.
  • Career Development: Opportunities for further PADI training and professional growth under the guidance of our in-house Course Director.
  • Community and Culture: Join a tight-knit, passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences and promoting marine conservation.
  • Flexible Hours: Work across our two stores, swimming pool and service centre with a schedule designed to balance your lifestyle.
