The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dive vessels during morning, afternoon, and night dive trips. This role oversees the safety of passengers, crew, and equipment while navigating to dive sites and ensuring compliance with US Coast Guard regulations, PADI standards, and company policies.

The Captain manages onboard crew, mentors staff in safe boating and diving practices, and ensures professional guest interactions throughout each trip. Responsibilities include conducting vessel system checks, maintaining logs, coordinating routine maintenance and inspections, monitoring dive safety procedures, and ensuring boats are clean, fueled, and properly equipped with safety gear.

The Captain also supervises crew performance, delivers or oversees dive and safety briefings, monitors offshore conditions, and communicates operational issues with management. This position requires strong seamanship, leadership, and customer service skills, along with the ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations.

Required qualifications include:

• USCG Master Captain’s License (50 Ton Near Coastal minimum)

• Emergency First Responder with AED certification

• PADI Divemaster or higher (OWSI preferred)

The role reports to the Head Captain and plays a key leadership role in maintaining safe operations, exceptional guest experiences, and high professional standards aboard our vessels.
