Overview

Join our vibrant SCUBA Dive Store team as a dedicated and enthusiastic Store Staff member! In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing expert guidance and exceptional customer service to diving enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Your energy, knowledge, and passion for diving will help create memorable experiences for our customers while ensuring smooth store operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within the diving industry, share your expertise, and promote a love for underwater exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with product selection, providing detailed product demos and explaining features of diving equipment and accessories
  • Manage retail sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash register operations and cash handling
  • Maintain organized stock levels through stocking, merchandising, and inventory management to ensure the store is well-presented and fully stocked
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on proper equipment use and safety procedures
  • Upsell complementary products and accessories to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in-person interactions, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Supervise or assist with retail store operations as needed, including supervising staff or interns in a supervisory capacity

Skills

  • Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments with strong retail math skills
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math for cash handling and transactions
  • Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership skills within retail or service settings
  • Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and inventory management practices
  • Strong customer service orientation with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills
  • Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction
